This event opened my eyes to the significant role of livestock farming in environmental degradation. Consequently, I made the conscious decision to eliminate meat from my diet. Around the same time, a friend recommended a fascinating book, on of the best on the subject, on nutrition called "The China Study." This book revealed the health benefits of adopting a plant-based diet, sparking a journey that transformed my health and well-being.



Discovering the Secrets of "The China Study":


"The China Study" captures the observations of a doctor who, from a young age, studied the diets of underprivileged children in and rural areas. The study's statistics revealed that children from impoverished backgrounds had significantly lower rates of diabetes and obesity compared to their urban counterparts. Upon examining their diets, the doctor noticed that rural children followed a simple diet that excluded meat, eggs, and dairy products. Eager to substantiate his findings, he replicated his research in 310 counties across China, obtaining similar results. His son, also a doctor, continued the family tradition and witnessed improved health outcomes in patients who adopted the same dietary principles: reduced diabetes, weight loss, decreased cholesterol levels, and improved overall well-being.


Embracing the China Study Diet:


Inspired by the compelling evidence presented in "The China Study," I decided to adopt a plant-based diet, which I refer to as the "W-Diet" (for Whole Diet). This diet focuses on consuming whole foods while eliminating meat, eggs, and dairy products. The results were astounding! By following this regimen, I successfully shed 10 kilograms of excess weight while also reducing my blood pressure and diabetes symptoms in a matter of months.
